Richard “Malcolm” Campbell, of Staples, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at The Villa at Osseo in Osseo, MN. Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 1 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Staples. Family and friends are welcome to gather at noon on Monday at Dower Lake Pier for a procession to the Seventh Day Adventist Church for the service.

Malcolm was born September 29, 1935 in Randall, WI, the son of Leonard LeRoy and Myrtle Evelyn (Olson) Campbell. After school, Malcolm was a chef for the US Army before he began working. In Hinkley, he worked for Tenquist Appliance Store before he moved the Staples Area where he owned and operated a gas station in Motley for a few years in the late 1970s. Malcolm enjoyed working – or maybe it was more socializing? - for the Amish Community. He spent almost 15 years helping drive different members of the Amish Community where they needed to go – in state or more often then not out of state. He also was a constant fishing companion for them. Malcolm’s magnetic personality and numerous jokes entertained many. He will be missed.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Nancy; children; Lucella Nancy Campbell, Timothy Malcolm Campbell, Roselene Shirley (Leon) Dahlvang, Hazel Louise Campbell, and Wayne K. Campbell; grandchildren, Jennifer Lucella, Timothy Michael, Samantha Rose, Austin Brandon, Zachary Cole, Maverick Lee, Cheyenne C. Campbell, and Wyatt Kyler Campbell; siblings, Thomas “Tom” Aaron Campbell, Carol Jean Hanson, and Rodger Allen Campbell; and two unknown brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard (May 8, 1977) and Myrtle (April 11, 1989) and siblings, Phyllis Joyce McQuiston (March 29, 1992), Donald Stanley-Collin Campbell (December 8, 2005), Leonard James “Skip” Campbell (November 11, 2002), and Virgil Keith Campbell (January 15, 2011).
