Richard “Dick” Schloeder, 98, Paynesville

December 3, 1927 - May 10, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2015 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Richard “Dick” Schloeder, age 87, who died Sunday at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary with the Catholic Order of Foresters and Catholic United Financial. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home.

Dick was born in Richmond, MN to Michael and Lucetta (Wegler) Schloeder. He married Dolores “Babe” Heying on May 13, 1950 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Richmond, MN. Dick was a farmer for much of his life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, bowling, playing cards, playing softball and in his early years he enjoyed playing baseball for the Richmond Royals. In his later years he enjoyed playing Yahtzee with Babe. Dick was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial and a Charter member of Rich-Spring Golf Course.

Survivors include his wife, Babe; children, Barbara (Tom) Miller, Michael (Ruth) Schloeder, Diane (Roger) Thomes, Gary (Judy) Schloeder, Scott (Lisa) Schloeder; brothers, Bob, Bill & Tom Schloeder; sisters, LouAnn Sturgis, Patti Chavez, Janet Paul; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Laura Mae Schloeder, Barbara Schloeder and brother-in-law, Frank Chavez.
