UPDATE: Authorities ID Woman Killed near Lake Minnetonka

MINNETONKA BEACH, Minn. (AP) – Authorities have identified a woman who was struck by a car allegedly driven by her husband near Lake Minnetonka.

Fifty-seven-year-old Diane Meder was struck Thursday night outside her home in Minnetonka Beach, a small town on a peninsula on the lake west of Minneapolis. She died about 90 minutes later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Orono Police Officer Jay Dembouski says the woman’s husband was arrested shortly after the accident, which investigators believe was not intentional. He was jailed on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation resulting in a death.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The case remains under investigation.
