Onamia Man Killed in Mille Lacs County Crash

MILLE LACS COUNTY - An Onamia man is dead after veering off the road in Mille Lacs County on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 3:45 on Highway 169, near milepost 195.

The State Patrol says 79-year-old Vernon Hartleib was driving a pickup southbound, when he drove off the highway and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road conditions were described as wet at the time of the crash.
