WAITE PARK -- An Oakdale man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving drunk.

The incident happened at about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday along 2nd Avenue South in Waite Park.

Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud says an officer saw a vehicle driving about 60 mph through a stop sign at 7th Street South. A traffic stop was made and the driver was identified as 30-year-old Eric Speck.

Bentrud says Speck failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI. This was his fifth arrest for DUI in the last 10 years making this a felony DUI arrest.

Police also noticed the smell of marijuana from the car. The Waite Park K9 team was called in and found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Speck was taken to Stearns County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearance.
