Nicholas “Nick” Rothstein, Richmond, 76

January 22, 1938 – July 16, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Nicholas “Nick” Rothstein, age 76, who died Wednesday at his home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday morning 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Nick was born in Richmond to Nicholas and Theresia (Braegelmann) Rothstein. He married Margie Gertken on August 31, 1968 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. Nick worked at the Cold Spring Granite Company for 34 years, retiring in 2000. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and traveling. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, and Catholic United Financial.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Margie; daughter, Margie Ann (Randy) Lahr; grandchildren, Kyle and Megan; brother, Clarence (Pauline); in-laws, Ralph Gertken, Evelyn Rothstein, MaryAnn (Robert) Schmitz, Alvin (Linda) Gertken, Nettie (Nick) Hemmesch, and Lucy Gertken.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edmund, Leo, Gregor, Leander, Richard, Norbert, Paul, Alfred, Ralph, Marcellus, Agedia Hemmesch, Agnes Rausch, Leona Hemmesch, and Lucille Rothstein.
