ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud city councilwoman Nancy Gohman resigned from the council last (Monday) night.

Council President Jeff Goerger says she emailed her letter of resignation to him and Mayor Dave Kleis before the meeting.

The reason why she stepped down is because the council has voted to award the construction contract for the Aquatic Center to Gohman's husband's company Gohman Construction. However, Goerger says she did not have to resign...

Gohman Construction was the lowest bidder on the project.

Gohman was not at last night's council meeting.

She is up for election next month, and her name will remain on the ballot.

Gohman tells WJON news she's considering all of her options. She says it's ultimately going to be up to the voters to decide if they want her back on the city council.
