Maturi Resigns As U of M Athletic Director

The University of Minnesota looking for new Athletic Director after Joel Maturi resigned Thursday after 10 years on the job.  Maturi is now 67 years old and said he found the job and the 12-14 hour days to be too physically demanding at his age.  Maturi did not have any NCAA violations during his time with the Gophers and was the man who hired football coaches Tim Brewster and Jerry Kill and men’s basketball coach Tubby Smith.

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler thanked Joel Maturi for his service during the press conference.
