UPDATE: U of M AD Maturi to Step Down

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -
A person with knowledge of the decision says University of Minnesota athletics director Joel Maturi is stepping down.

The person told The Associated Press that Maturi would announce his retirement Thursday at an 11 a.m. news conference with university President Eric Kaler. The person requested anonymity because an official announcement hadn’t been made yet.

The subject of Thursday’s news conference wasn’t given, and a university spokesman declined to say what would be announced.
