Martin D. Dirks, 44, St. Joseph

March 26, 1971 - September 18, 2015

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MN for Martin Daniel Dirks, age 44 of St. Joseph, MN. He died on Friday, September 18, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Martin was born on March 26, 1971, in Rapids City, SD, the son of Dolan and Dana (Coleman) Dirks. He grew up in Rapid City where he attended school. As a young adult he moved to the St. Cloud, MN area where he worked as a cook in various restaurants. He has been disabled the past five years and has made his home with his mother and step-father the last few years.

Over the years he has enjoyed fishing and hanging out with this many friends. He also enjoyed playing “Star Wars” with his son LeRoy on the computer.

He was preceded in death by his father Dolan in 1979.

He is survived by his son LeRoy Coleman of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother and step-father Dana and John Crosswhite of St. Joseph, MN; three brothers, Anton and Murray Dirks of St. Joseph, MN and David Dirks of Rapid City, SD; three step-sisters, Jennifer (Brad) Gamble of the Twin Cities, Stacy Crosswhite of Duelm, MN, and Heather Crosswhite of St. Cloud, MN, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
