A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN for Linus Koopmeiners, age 75, of St. Cloud. Linus was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2011. He passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14th, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 18th from 4pm to 8pm and 9 am to 10 am on Friday both at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN. Father Mark Innocenti and Father Greg Lieser will officiate. Parish Prayers will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Linus was born on July 13, 1939 to Ben and Veronica (Pohlmann) Koopmeiners in rural Freeport. He graduated from Albany High School in 1956. His military obligation was completed through the Federal Army Reserve Program. Linus married Marina Kemper on August 8, 1959 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Linus owned and operated the Gran-A-Stone Company selling brick, building stone and various masonry supplies for 17 years. Gran-A-Stone was merged into the Brock White Company on June 1, 1994. Linus was employed by Brock White Company as a business consultant for a number of years.
Linus was very active in the business community. He was a member of the Central Minnesota Builders Association, Brick Distributors of Minnesota, Allied Stone Industries, National Association of Brick Distributors, Building Stone Institute and Marble Institute of America. Linus loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his daily walks and appreciated Mother Nature. Linus was very mechanical and spent many hours working on things to make them more efficient. Linus and Marina enjoyed traveling and RV'ing. They belonged to the Winnebago RV Club and also the Pioneers Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association. He was also a member of the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622.

Linus is survived by Marina, his wife of 55 years; his children Scott (Deb) Koopmeiners, St. Cloud, Daniel (Lori) Koopmeiners, St. Cloud, Kelly (Bill) Vander Weyst, Gilbert, AZ, Kurt (Lori) Koopmeiners, St. Cloud, Stephanie (Jay) Theisen, Sartell, MN, and Terry (Jodi) Koopmeiners, St. Joseph, MN; grandchildren Adam (Kelli), Robbie (Alisha), Alex, Chris, Kyle, Rachel and Carly Koopmeiners, Cody and Jordan Vander Weyst, Logan and Taylor Theisen, and Tyler Beuning; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Reese Koopmeiners; siblings Bernice Kluempke, Melrose, MN, Lorraine Hoeschen, Albany, MN, Alice Oehrlein, Mora, MN, Melvin (Lucy) and Benny (Carol) Koopmeiners, St. Cloud; sister-in-law Lorene Koopmeiners, St. Cloud as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Laverne Koopmeiners.
