ST. CLOUD - June weather had near normal temperatures and below average rainfall.  It's hard to believe but it's true, according the the weather summary from St. Cloud State University.

First for the temperatures, we had an average June temperature of 65 degrees -- which is 0.2 degrees warmer than normal.  That's despite a streak of 21 days in which high temperatures did not even get to 80 degrees.

The equalizer was a heat blast on June 6th and 7th that produced a 90-degree and 101 degree day.

Now for the rain.  The St. Cloud Regional Airport missed the big rain event on June 21st that left many in the metro area wading through flooded streets.  That slow moving line of storms only dropped .06" at the airport, while dumping 2.33" at St. Cloud State University.
The total June rainfall at the airport was 2.87", more than 1 1/2" below normal.  SCSU's June rainfall total was nearly double the airport with 5.36".
