Judith M. Ludewig, 80, Sartell

January 5, 1936 - April 16, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Judith M. Ludewig, 80, of Sartell will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Judy passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Saint Therese at St. Odilia in Shoreview. Reverend Timothy Baltes will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 10:30 a.m. on Friday both at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Gathering Space in Sartell. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. followed by the rosary with St. Monica’s Christian Women Thursday in the gathering space.

Judy was born on January 5, 1936 near Dundee, Minnesota to the late Peter and Mary (Klopp) McDonald. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Bird Island in 1955 and from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester. She was employed as a nurse prior to meeting Cyril “Cy” Ludewig. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1960 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Lake Lillian. They lived in the Comfrey, Waseca, and Sartell communities raising their five children. Judy was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, St. Monica’s Christian Women, Lay Carmelites and Marriage Encounter. She also volunteered with many organizations.

Judy is survived by her children, Chris (Tammy) of Northfield, Greg (Jan) of Andover, Paula of Arden Hills, Bruce of Duluth, Becky (Paul) Lulai of New Brighton; eight beloved grandchildren, Sara, Karyn, Carl, Andy, Mike and Emily Ludewig, Grace and Abby Lulai; brothers, Bill McDonald of Rockford and John McDonald of Annandale; and sisters, Maureen Christiansen of Tonka Bay and Joanne Erickson of St. Paul; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cy in 2003; and brother, Peter McDonald.
