Janet K. Jacobson, 57, Richmond

June 30, 1958 - March 12, 2016

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond, MN for Janet K. Jacobson, age 57, who died Saturday at the University of MN Medical Center, Fairview in Minneapolis.

There will be a gathering of relatives and friends from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Wenner Funeral Home prior to Celebration of Life.

Janet was born in Bemidji, MN to Ervin and Delma (Johnson) Jacobson. She married Jim McDonald on September 15, 1990 in Detroit Lakes. Janet was a RN for 20 years and after further education she became a Physician’s Assistant which she did for 15 years. Her patients were like her family. Janet had an ability to treat everyone with equality and respect. She had an undying love for all furry and feathered friends. Janet also enjoyed gardening, golfing, and needle point.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; son, Shea; mother, Delma; siblings, Jeffrey (Lynette), Joan Oas, and Carol (Silas) Hooker; nieces and nephews, Alaina (Bowman) Webb, Noelle Oas, Leilani Oas, Amanda Hooker, Dillon Hooker, Eli Hooker, Hillary Oas (Gareth Miller); brother-in-laws, John (Joan) McDonald, Mike (Debra) McDonald, George (Lynette) McDonald, Paul McDonald; sister-in-laws, Barbara Garramone, Kay (Howard) Lohman, Maureen McDonald, Mary Jo Lien.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin; brother-in-law, John Oas, and all of her grandparents.
