HOLDINGFORD -- The City of Holdingford will be bidding for $2.2-million in state bonding money tomorrow (Tuesday).

They are looking to use that money to bring natural gas into town.

Mayor Ernie Schmit says the gas companies require the city to have the project money up front--money they don't have.

Schmit says this is the first time the city has requested bonding money. He says he thinks the school system would save a lot of money using natural gas and it would help grow their business community in town.

Currently Holdingford residents are using propane or fuel oil. The mayor is set to make his bid to the Senate Capital Investment Committee during their central Minnesota tour tomorrow (Tuesday).
