ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - As "Saturday Night Live" celebrates its 40th anniversary, former cast member Al Franken is recalling a movie he'd hoped to film in St. Cloud but didn't.

Franken is now a U.S. senator. But between SNL stints he and fellow Minnesotan Tom Davis penned a screenplay called "Datenight." It was set in St. Cloud and chronicled the adventures of teens and adults over the course of a single Saturday night.

But the movie ultimately was filmed in a Chicago suburb posing as St. Cloud because St. Cloud officials didn't cooperate.

Franken says that wasn't the only change. He says the studio made lots of changes he thought were strange.

The film was also renamed "One More Saturday Night." It got only a limited release in 1986.
