Film On Church’s Swastika Removal Debuts Saturday [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD — A documentary about the removal of five swastika symbols from the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud will make it’s debut this weekend on public television.
“SYMBOL” was created by St. Cloud State University Professor Gregory Martin. He says his film tells the history of the symbols from when they were installed on the church facade in 1930 to the church’s decision in 2006 to remove them. A decision not everyone agreed with.
The swaskita, or broken cross, actually has pre-Christian roots and dates back at least six-thousand years.
The documentary “SYMBOL” will air tomorrow (Saturday) night at 8:30 p.m. on TPT MN.
