Evelyn L. Caughey, 95, of South Long Lake, MN left to be with her heavenly family on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Carefree Living in Brainerd, MN. Evelyn was born on October 20, 1918 in Brainerd, MN to Oscar and Clara (Rasmussen) Stuck. She married Donald Caughey on June 17, 1939. They lived and raised their family on their farm by South Long Lake.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney of Helena, MT, Walter of Brainerd, MN, Earl of Brainerd, MN; daughter, Nancy (Larry) Austad of Brainerd, MN; grandchildren, Tammy (Rick) Hamilton of Burnsville, MN, David (Michele) Leibold of Brainerd, MN, Debbie (Troy) Fields of Brainerd, MN, Jason Caughey of Federal Way, WA, Donald Caughey of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Micayla Caughey of Brainerd, MN; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Oscar and Clara; and a sister and brother.

Evelyn was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was very active in the Eagles Club. She farmed her entire life southeast of Brainerd. Evelyn liked to crochet, going bowling, and dancing.

Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 1:00PM at Bethel Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Nancy Opitz officiating. Visitation is on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4:00-7:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
