Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church for Doris J. "Dori" Mahoney, age 72, of Sartell and formerly of Albany, who passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN. The Reverend Douglas Liebsch will officiate. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the Church. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Doris was born on January 11, 1944 to Roy P. and Joyce M. (Krafnick) Popilek in Shakopee, MN. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1962. She married John T. Drewicke on November 14, 1964, they later divorced. She later married Glenn R. Mahoney, on March 26, 1976 in Albany. Together they owned and operated Albany Ag Service. She worked for Fingerhut for many years, and later retired from REM Minnesota providing care to people with special needs.

Dori was a beloved mom, sister, and auntie. She loved to spend time at home with her beloved cats, and spending time with her family and friends. Dori enjoyed quilting, ceramics, sewing, painting, reading, gardening, dancing, and spending time at Shawn’s home on the lake in Nevis. She always looked forward to the Annual Girl’s Weekend with her family up North. She was extremely proud of all of her children and their accomplishments. She was a caring, compassionate, loving, and devoted mother and friend. She is greatly loved and will be missed dearly.

Dori is survived by her children, Shawn Drewicke of Nevis, MN, and Shannon (Joe Pierskalla) Drewicke, of Zimmerman; siblings, Jan (Dick) Butler, of Paynesville, Jim (Mary Faust) Popilek, of Waite Park, and Roy, Jr. (Kristin) Popilek, of Plymouth; step-children, Vance Mahoney, of North Augusta, SC , and Leslie (Andrew) Miller, of Rochester; step-grandchildren, Vanessa Mahoney and Sydney Miller; sister-in-law, Mary (Elmer) VanDerHeyden, of Rochester; brother-in-law, Lenny Halpin, of Burnsville, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; sister, Carol Halpin; nephews, Kurt Rausch and Brock Olson; and brother-in-law, Bill Rausch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
