ST. AUGUSTA -- A St. Augusta liquor store will have to undergo another round of ID compliance training, or face a fine after another failed check.

At the city council meeting Wednesday night, the council decided to levy another $500 fine on the St. Augusta Mini Serv.

However, since the last compliance check failure was, in the opinion of the Stearns County Sheriff's Office due to a lack of employee experience and not an attempt to sell liquor to a minor, the fine can be waived as long as all store employees attend the required compliance check training within 90 days.

The latest violation came on June 9, and was the fourth in a 24-month period.

The owners faced a possible $2,000 fine and license suspension of between 5-60 days, or license revocation.
