The Catholic church has elected a new pope. Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected as the 266th Pontiff and will lead the world's 1.2 billion Catholics. He has taken the name Pope Francis.
Tuesday evening, a plume of black smoke rose out of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican, signifying that the first round of balloting to elect a new pope had passed without any nominee receiving the necessary two-thirds majority.
A task force has determined the St. Cloud Area School District's religion policy is just fine. Superintendent Bruce Watkins says, while talking to residents during his retirement, he found there was a lot of misinformation about the district's policy on religion.
