Local 6th Grade Students To Hold Skating Fundraiser For Cancer Research

Three South Junior High 6th graders are organizing a fundraiser to raise money for cancer research. Jasmine Jett, Halle Vaverek, and Isabella Linares are partnering with the American Cancer Society for the Skate For Life event to empower kids to take action to fight cancer.

Residents Escape Without Injury During House Fire in Haven Township

A fire damaged a home in Haven Township on Sunday night. Sauk Rapids fire chief Jason Flemming says the call came in just after 5:30 p.m. at a farm at 4760 45th Avenue Southeast. The family was able to escape from the home and nobody was hurt in the incident.

Monticello Man Dies in Big Lake Area Lake

A Monticello man died in a lake near Big Lake. The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says they were called to Lake Mitchell on Friday at about 4:30 p.m. Fifty-two-year-old Paul Pohlkamp was swimming and anchored around a friend's boat when he was found unresponsive in the water.

Sysco Removing ‘Appert’s’ Signage on Building, Trucks

The familiar Apperts trucks, and building, are getting new signage. Sysco bought Apperts here in St. Cloud back in December of 2012. President Mike Pilkington says they're now beginning the public phase of the name change, which will gradually happen over the next couple of months.
