Caroline Zumwalde, 101, Richmond

October 26, 1913 – March 18, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Caroline Zumwalde, age 101, who died Wednesday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Caroline was born in Rockville to Joseph and Anna (Strack) Bellmont. She married Alfred Zumwalde on May 29, 1941. Caroline enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, embroidery, crocheting, trying new recipes, playing casino slots, cards, and bingo. She was a member of Christian Women and Catholic United Financial.

Survivors include her children, John (Joanne), Ron (Alice), JoAnn, Jerry (Jan), Ken (friend Judi), and Jim (Donna); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, infant son, Roger, and 7 siblings.
