ST. CLOUD - A busted sprinkler system has caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a north St. Cloud building. The St. Cloud Fire Department got a call from a bystander about an alarm sounding in the building at 1025 18th Street North at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

When fire crews arrived they found water coming out of multiple doors. There was three-to-four inches of standing water throughout the building.

It's not known how long the sprinkler system was broken, but it is believed the pipes froze and then broke.

The building is unoccupied now, but used to be the home of STRIDE Academy. The fire department says it is currently owned by Henkemeyer Properties LLC.

The damage is estimated at about $400,000.
