SARTELL -- For over 100 years the Boy Scouts of America have had a long and outstanding tradition.

Today (Saturday) February 8th marks the anniversary of the Boy Scouts and each troop tries to recognize this historic event.

David Trehey is the Scout Executive for the Central Minnesota Council. He says community involvement is a big part of the scouts.

Around 4,400 families, with boys ages five through 20, around the Central Minnesota Boy Scout Counicl participate in either Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Adventuring and Exploring scouts.

This weekend scouts will recognize the programs anniversary with "Scout Sunday," where scouts will be involved with Sunday service.

The Boy Scouts began back in 1910.
