Bobbie Glee Boughton-Topp, 96, of Pequot Lakes, entered into rest Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Brainerd, MN. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. A second service will take place at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 24 at Bellevue Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bellevue, NE. Internment will follow at the Bellevue Cemetery.

Bobbie was born August 23, 1918 in Walters, OK, the daughter of John Robert and Mary Glee (Wilcox) Lewis. The family moved to West Branch, IA where Bobbie graduated high school before attending a nursing program at the University of Iowa. She married Richard W. Boughton and the couple lived in Sioux Falls, SD and Des Moines, IA before making their home in Bellevue, NE for 30 years. Richard passed on in 1988. Bobbie continued her life in Bellevue and later met her second great love, Eldon Topp whom she married in 1996. Bobbie and Eldon retired to the Pequot Lakes area where they have a home on West Twin Lake. They enjoyed 18 wonderful years together.

Bobbie was very active in her community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue. She taught Sunday school and established a puppet ministry. She was “flabbergasted” when two scripts she wrote for the youth group were accepted for national publication. She was co-owner of Beekay Puppets and was director of the Bellevue Little Puppet Theatre. She was heavily involved with the Bellevue Little Theatre, loving every minute of the 34 years she spent with them appearing in many plays, as a producer, as a director, theatre manager, and board member. Any spare time was spent playing bridge and cheering on her Nebraska Cornhuskers.

She will be missed by her husband, Eldon D Topp; her children, Linda Hollister of NC, Janie (Tom) Bell of OR, Richard “Rick” Boughton of CA, Penny (Richard) Green of NC; sister Ruth Hoffmann of NC, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard; her parents, and her brother Joseph.
