Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Betty M. Muntifering, age 83, of St. Cloud. Betty passed away peacefully with family at her side on November 18 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Betty was born January 21, 1931 in St. Cloud to Michael and Lauretta (Weber) Wiegel. She married Robert Muntifering on May 13th, 1950 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. Betty and her husband established, owned and operated the Dutch Maid Bakery in east St. Cloud for many years where she was the cake decorator. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Parish, East side VFW4847 Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella and Christian Women.

Betty enjoyed many things which included the Minnesota Twins, music concerts, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing on her deck overlooking the Mississippi River, with a can of Coke in her hand.

Betty is survived by her children Robert (Jean) Muntifering of Sartell, Cathy Cripe of St. Cloud, Jeff (Rachel Skerston) Muntifering of St. Cloud and Barb (Dwayne) Corrigan of Foley, 5 grandchildren Jeff Muntifering, Carie Cox, Jennifer Kenning, Nick and Kate Corrigan, 3 great grandchildren Dane and Reese Kenning and L’Kano Muntifering and sister Marlene (Robert) Brennan of St. Cloud.

Preceding her in death were her parents, step father Lawrence Cole, and husband Robert July 9, 2001.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Benedict’s Senior Community and St. Cloud Hospital Hospice for the tender care she received.
