Betty Jean Kramer, 85, Pierz, MN, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, December 5, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Betty Jean Prentice was born on May 9, 1929 in Fairmont, MN, daughter of Ray and Helen (Wholly) Prentice. She attended school at the Staples-Motley Vo-Tech for food preparation. She lived in the metro and Brainerd Lakes Area. She owned and operated the Dellwood on Gull Lake and rented the kitchen at the Drop Inn, SE of Brainerd on 18. For the past eight years, Betty Jean has lived with her granddaughter, Kari.

She is survived by her son: James Rettke of Grand Forks, ND; son-in-law: Joe Hite, Sr. of Motley; eight grandchildren: Kari (James) Green of Pierz, Luke (Karen) Rettke of Brainerd, Joe (Helen) Hite, Jr. of Motley, Adam Rettke of Brainerd, Naya (Bernard) Harris of Sanford, FL, Sarah Rettke of Brainerd, Christopher Hite in California, and Sally Rettke of Brainerd and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Bud Prentice; her husband: Dennis on March 4, 1992; her daughter and son-in-law: Gayle and Scott Boland on October 4, 1997 and a grandson: Travis, at two weeks.
