ST. CLOUD -- The Apollo Eagles host their season opener tonight (Friday) against the Rocori Spartans.

Eagles would get out to a fast start thanks to a three and one yard touchdown runs by Quarterback Ben Alvord.

Apollo would ride that momentum to a 14-6 half time lead.

Both defenses would pick things up in the second half. Apollo making a couple of Sacks against Rocori Quarterback Skippy Virchow.

The Spartans would close the scoring gap thanks to a safety after a bad snap went over the Apollo punter's head and through the back of the endzone.

Later on in the quarter, Senior running back Kyle Rosenthal would find a hole and punch it in for another Eagle touchdown.

Apollo would go on to win the game 27-15.
