District 742 has found a new soccer coach for the Apollo boys soccer team. Adbikhani (Seyga) Omar Mohamed will take the place of Ganard Orionzi, whose contract was allowed to expire earlier this summer. Mohamed has played soccer for more than 25 years and professionally for nine years.
The Apollo High School athletic field and track will see some much needed improvements this summer. District 742 buildings and ground supervisor Bryan Brown says the rubber track is falling apart and desperately needed to be fixed. The plan is to eventually put turf in on the football field-all of the summer modifications will work towards that goal.
Chalk Talk works with students from diverse backgrounds to address social issues, as well as helping students get to know each other. Their artwork from the one day workshop is on display at the St. Cloud Public Library. Some of the Becker students spoke about their experience.
The Future Problem Solving International Competition is right around the corner, and a St. Cloud Apollo senior will be heading to Ames Iowa to take part. The t-shirt all the FPS Minnesota students will be wearing just happens to be a design by this student. Two St. Cloud principals are swapping places later this year. Current Apollo High School Principal Charlie Eisenreich will become Principal of Technical High School and Adam Holm, the interim principal at Tech this year, will become the Apollo High School principal.
More ideas and concepts are emerging for a new Tech High School and for renovations to Apollo High School. A High School Design Task Force made their recommendations to the school board during a special meeting on Wednesday night.
Coach Pete Matanich and his Apollo hockey team took off for state today through a crowd of fans who are waiting for the tournament to begin. They will take on Break in the first round at the XCEL Energy Center.
