Anna L. Chapin, formerly of Pequot Lakes, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. Service times are pending.

Lillian was born June 24, 1922 in Webster City, IA, the daughter of Jacob Eugene and Anna Mae (Brown) Berg. Following school, Lillian was united in marriage to Elmer C. Chapin. The couple raised their daughter in the Pequot Lakes Area. Elmer was a fishing guide, and Lillian so enjoyed being his constant companion on and off the lake. She was a great cook and tended a large garden that provided many canned goods. Following the death of Elmer in 1977, Lillian moved in with her daughter’s family. Lillian was a spitfire and her spunky disposition was treat to many who visited Tower Pizza in Nisswa where she was affectionately known to many as “Grandma”. Her memory was unmatched and many family and friends made a call to Lillian when every an item was lost or a date needed to be remembered. She enjoyed country music, watching John Wayne movies and doing laundry. She was not often without her coffee and toast. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty Ann (John) Lamolli, of Tower; grandchildren, Stacey (Jason) Ripley, Joy Lynn (Tom) Archibald, and Ryan Engelke; great-grandchildren, Joshua Ripley, Jordan Ripley, and Lillianna Mae Archibald; sisters, Marjorie (Jack) Cook and Edith (Larry) Hagen; brother, Larry (Rose) Berg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Betty, Robert, Paul, Jacob, Jr., and Eugene.
