Work Resumes on Highway 23 Paynesville Bypass

PAYNESVILLE -- Work on the Highway 23 Paynesville Bypass project resumes Monday.

It will prompt the closure of Lake Avenue North from Minnie Street to 185th Street in Paynesville for about the next month.

The closure is needed because crews will be building the new Lake Avenue/Highway 23 intersection.

Stearns County Roads 33 and 120 will stay open to allow access to 185th Street.

The 7.5-mile bypass project will improve traffic flow around the city of Paynesville to the north.

It's scheduled to be completed this August.
