Willmar Woman Pleads Guilty To Assault With A Stiletto

WILLMAR  (AP) - A Minnesota woman has pleaded guilty to assault with a stiletto shoe.

Police in Willmar say two women dancing at the Caribbean Club were attacked by 20-year-old Andrea Diaz in May. Officers say Diaz used a stiletto to hit the women in the face. Both women were treated at Rice Memorial Hospital. Authorities say one of the women needs reconstructive eye surgery and may lose her sight.

The women say they had no prior argument or altercation with their attacker and don't know why they were targeted. Police say witnesses picked Diaz out of a police lineup.  Sentencing in Kandiyohi County is Aug. 25.
