This weekend, temperatures are going to potentially be in the mid 70’s, it would seem that we’re turning the corner for the expected warmer weather.

Although next Thursday, the high looks like it might not make it out of the 40’s, so maybe we’re not turning the corner just quite yet.

We’re in that stage where we need to keep the jacket around, especially in the mornings.

Another thing we need to keep handy is supplies in case a tornado hits the area. I wrote an article yesterday which contained information of three tornados that had already struck the Mid-West in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

These storms caused significant damage, injury and death. Knowing that we’re now in Tornado Season, there’s a certain number of things that will be out of our control.

“Control what we can control” is a phrase that most of us have heard, and there’s a lot of truth in that saying. But when it comes to tornadoes, what can we control?

We can control how we prepare in case tornadoes come and how we respond to those storms once they arrive. The Mid-West is a prime target area for tornadoes and residents are urged to have a plan of what to do, meaning where to seek shelter to stay as safe as possible.

But also, how to survive if a storm knocks out the power, or worse, causes significant damage. Here is what the National Weather Service says we should all have on hand:
