Waite Park Gathers For ‘Through My Eyes’ Book Signing [VIDEO]

WAITE PARK - Many gathered at Discovery Community School this afternoon (Saturday) for the book launch of "Through My Eyes".

Discovery Community School Principal Tammy Wilson was inspired by her students to write the book "Through My Eyes". The book features a Somali girl, Zamzam as the main character. It highlights the changes and challenges Zamzam goes through as she leaves her country as a refugee, comes to America and eventually St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Wilson wrote the book because she noticed a lack of literature her Somali students could relate to. So far the book has been a favorite generating positive reactions from both kids and adults.
