NEW ULM (AP) — Searchers have discovered the body of a New Ulm woman who had been missing for five days.

Ffity-One-year-old Karen Schroeder left her home on foot Monday and wasn't seen again. The woman was reportedly dealing with unspecified health issues.

New Ulm Police Commander Dave Borchert said in a statement that police and volunteers found Schroeder's body Saturday in Flandrau State Park, which lies just outside the city. He said in the statement cold conditions were likely a major factor in her death.

Borchert told The Associated Press on Sunday that an autopsy is pending. He said the earliest that could take place would be Monday. He declined to comment further.
