UPDATE: Plymouth Shootings Involved Domestic Violence
PLYMOUTH - Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek says a woman shot to death at a busy intersection in Plymouth appears to be a victim of domestic violence, and the man suspected of killing her died in an exchange of gunfire with police.
Stanek and Plymouth Police Chief Mike Goldstein held a news conference Saturday to update reporters on how events unfolded Friday night.
They say police got a call just before 9:15 p.m. of a person who had been shot and possibly run over. About four minutes later, police got a call about a man with a long gun at a Plymouth apartment building. Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect about 9:30 p.m. and later found him dead.
It's still not clear if the suspect killed himself or was killed by police.
