LITCHFIELD -- An incident involving a hunter being shot in the leg in November has officially been ruled an accident.

On November 8th, 58-year-old Dale Fenrich of Litchfield was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center after being shot in the leg.

The case was reviewed by the Wright County Attorney's Office by request of the Meeker County Attorney's Office.

The investigation found that Fenrich, a Meeker County Commissioner, was hit by a bullet intended for a deer, but was rerouted from a ricochet.

As a result, no criminal charges will be pursued.
