ANOKA -- Two women are charged in a videotaped beating of a 15-year-old Minnesota girl whose hair was cut by one of her attackers.

Eighteen-year-old Cassandra Borden of Cedar and 19-year-old Alexis Nelson of Zimmerman were charged Friday in Anoka County with fifth-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The assault happened June 17 in a wooded area of St. Francis. A video of the attack was posted online by the victim's mother. The video has been viewed more than 500,000 times.

The charges allege Borden struck the girl nearly 50 times after saying that Borden caught the victim with "my man." Nelson is not accused of hitting the girl, but the complaint alleges she snipped off several inches of the victim's hair.

Both women are due in court Aug. 25.
