Tri-County Humane Society Holds One-Day Cat Discount Sale

If you've been thinking about getting a cat, now's a good time -- and you can save some cash, too.

The Tri-County Humane Society is holding a sale on "Certified Pre-Owned Cats" as a way to find homes for an overflow of felines at the shelter.

Shelter officials say there are 20 cats and 42 kittens at the shelter as of Thursday evening.  The shelter's trying to get to a more manageable number of potential pets.

So for Friday, October 28th, you  can get a cat -- 6-months and older -- for just $10.  That includes:

-- spay/neuter surgery
-- vaccinations
-- deworming
-- general exam
-- behavioral evaluation
-- nail trim
-- general grooming
-- microchip
-- free veterinary office visit
-- 30 days pet insurance

Tri-County Human Society Director Vicki Davis says at that $10 price, the shelter is losing money. But they'd rather lose money and find homes for cats.

And if you're looking for a kitten, the Humane Society is running a 50% Off and Buy One Get One Free promotion.

The sale prices from from noon until 8 p.m., Friday, October 28th.
