ST. CLOUD - Winter will be here before we know it, so starting the process of fall lawn maintenance is essential.

If you have an in-ground sprinkler system, it could be a good idea to use a sprinkler blower to clear out any remaining water from your sprinkler heads and lines.

Mitch Grams works with Geyer Rental Service, which rents the compressor systems. He says if you  don't get all the water out of your sprinklers, this can cause burst sprinkler heads and lines - which are expensive to fix.

Grams says the process of clearing out your sprinklers takes about 3 hours and is easy to do yourself.

They do rent sprinkler blowers at Geyer, but they see a spike in requests during October, so you can expect to wait for one.
