MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 17-year-old has been sentenced to 34 years in prison for fatally shooting another teen in Minneapolis last Fourth of July.

Kenneth Lee Johnson apologized to the family of the victim, 16-year-old Anthony Titus, in court Thursday.

Johnson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder. Prosecutors dropped other charges as part of a plea deal.

Johnson will be eligible for parole after 22 years.

Another shooter, 21-year-old Ryan Eugene Loyd, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last month and was sentenced to 39 years in prison.

Johnson and Loyd got out of a sport utility vehicle and shot at an alleged gang member but instead struck Titus in the back, killing him. Police say Titus was not a gang member.
