Prep Girls Tennis Update; State Tourney Individuals

St. Cloud Tech's Taylor Tarrolly won her opening match in Class AA Singles 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 over Prior Lake's Dani Keller but lost in her next match 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 to Natalie Phippen of Stillwater and Tarrolly was eliminated. The Tech doubles team of Leah Wurm and Sam Eisenreich lost their first round match 6-1, 6-4 to a team from Forest Lake before losing 6-1, 6-0 to a team from Delano in the consolation quarterfinals.

Cathedral Boys Soccer; Girls Tennis Individuals at State Today

The Cathedral boys soccer team will play their State A State Tournament quarterfinal game against St. Paul Como Park tonight at 7:30 at Hopkins High School. The Crusaders are seeded 5th while St. Paul Como Park is seeded 4th. Cathedral is 17-0-2 while St. Paul Como Park is 19-1. The winner of tonight's game will play at the Metrodome at noon Monday October 29 against either top seeded St. Paul Academy and Summit School or Waconia.

Tech Girls Tennis Falls In State Tournament

The Tech Girls Tennis team lost 2 matches Tuesday in the Class AA State tournament at Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota. The Tigers lost to 3rd seeded Prior Lake 5-2 before falling to Stillwater in the consolation semifinals 5-2. The Tigers were eliminated from the team competition. This is Tech's 16th state tournament appearance.

Tech Girls Tennis Not Seeded For State Tournament

The St. Cloud Tech girls tennis team will play in the Class AA State Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday October 23 at Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota Campus. Tech will play 3rd seeded Prior Lake Tuesday October 23. Edina is seeded #1, Minnetonka is seeded #2.

Tech Tennis Has Individual Success

The Tech girls tennis team did well in the individual competition this weekend in Section 8AA. Taylor Tarolly of Tech won in singles and the Tech doubles team of Sam Eisenreich and Leah Wurm finished 2nd. Tarolly, Eisenreich and Wurm each qualify for the state meet. The Tech girls tennis team has already qualified for the Class AA state team competition to be held at Baseline Tennis Center in Edina on October 23.
