Town team baseball has a very deep tradition in Stearns County. The Stearns History Museum is preserving that history with some interesting artifacts. Curator Adam Smith says one example is a couple of baseball gloves used in the 1940's by Avon ballplayer Ambrose Heurung.

A stuffed two-headed pig is one of the more interesting artifacts in the collection at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud. Curator Adam Smith says Louie Poganski of St. Cloud donated the pig to the museum way back in 1953.

Campers Dig Into Archaeology At Stearns History Museum Day Camp [VIDEO]

The Stearns History Museum and the SCSU Department of Anthropology teamed up to put on a day camp for kids. During the camp they searched for artifacts including coins and pottery during a dig, and also mapped artifacts, surveyed the oldest building in St. Cloud, went on a nature hike, sifted through soil, and learned about archaeology.
