During Prohibition one of the best moonshines in the country - Minnesota 13 - was made right here in Stearns County. The premiere of a new documentary about the moonshine is showing this Sunday at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud.
The Eastman Park/Lake George area in St. Cloud is probably best known for weekly Summertime By George concerts now, but for years it was the place to go to cool off on a hot summer day. For 55 years the St. Cloud Municipal pool was the crown jewel of that neighborhood.

A uniform worn by a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930's can be found at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud. Curator Adam Smith says the CCC was created by Franklin Roosevelt during the Great Depression to help single men ages 18-25.
A Golden Globe with a St. Cloud connection can be found at the Stearns History Museum. The award was won by St. Cloud native Gig Young - whose original name was Byron Barr - for his role in the 1969 film "They Shoot Horses Don't They".
A new exhibit with kids in mind is opening on Friday in St. Cloud. "Healthyville" is at the Stearns History Museum. Executive Director Jim Davis says it's a traveling exhibit that they have on loan from a children's museum in Connecticut.
