Stearns County Addressing Jail Overcrowding

Stearns County is moving ahead with plans to remodel their jail and plan for a future facility. The county board has appointed a committee to oversee a short-term remodeling of the Stearns County Jail.

UPDATE – Name of Dead Stearns County Inmate Released

A 22-year-old man being held in the Stearns County Jail has died. Sheriff John Sanner says correctional officers responded to a medical emergency in the jail at about 8:30 a.m. this (Friday) morning.

Burnsville Man Dies In Stearns County Jail

Stearns County authorities are waiting for toxicology results for a Burnsville man who died while in custody last week. Twenty-two-year-old Jeffrey Michael Magee was found unresponsive in his cell on the morning of Aug. 24.
