Drive down Division Street in St. Cloud and you'll notice some bright new banners, welcoming this year's 30,000 college students back to town. There are 32 street-light banners between Eighth and 14th Avenues.

If you're looking for a job, consider becoming a trucker. There's a shortage of truck drivers across the country -- and here in Central Minnesota. Corky Rollins is a truck driving instructor at the St. Cloud Technical and Community College. He says they can't train students fast enough.

St. Cloud College Penalized for Hazardous Waste Violations

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has penalized the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system for hazardous waste violations at two schools. The violations occurred at St. Cloud Technical and Community College and at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.

Dayton Signs Bonding Bill

Gov. Mark Dayton has signed a nearly $500 million public works package that includes money for college buildings, flood prevention and local roads and bridges. Dayton had wanted more projects as a boost to Minnesota's construction industry, but he said the bill was better than nothing as he signed it Friday.

College Auto Body, Truck Programs Getting an Overhaul [AUDIO]

Calling it a "big deal" for Central Minnesota, officials at the St. Cloud Technical and Community College are excited to get started on renovations to their Auto Body and Medium-Heavy Truck Programs. The school received $4 million in bonding money passed by the State Legislature this week.

The number of veterans on Minnesota college campuses has been steadily rising. The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system says system wide enrollment of veterans is up 57% since 2008.

Fall Enrollment Down for SCSU, SCTCC

Fall enrollment is down at both St. Cloud State University and the St. Cloud Technical and Community College. Total enrollment for all 32 schools in the MnSCU system down 1 1/2% at just over 200,000.
