Banaian: Returning SCSU Students Contribute Millions to Local Economy

Thousands of college students are returning to St. Cloud over the next week and are expected to generate millions in the local economy. Economist King Banaian says St. Cloud State University alone creates thousands of jobs in the area. Downtown shops and restaurants around town will benefit from having the students back in town.

SCSU Continuing to Emphasize Sexual Consent For Incoming Freshmen [VIDEO]

With freshmen moving into St. Cloud State University later this week, every new student will be required to complete an online program to educate them on dating violence and sexual assault. The University has had a new student sexual assault prevention program for over 20 years. The online course new students need to complete is called "Not Anymore".

St. Cloud State hired a new provost last week, Dr. Ashish Vaidya from Cal-State Los Angeles. Dr. Vaidya's first day was July 1. He held the same position at Cal-State Los Angeles.

St. Cloud State Transforming Q-Lot To Protect Mississippi River

St. Cloud State University is transforming one of its parking lots into a pollution reduction project to help protect Mississippi River water quality. A $196,000 grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will makeover the Q-Lot, which is south of the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

SCSU Students Raising Money for Nepal Earthquake Victims

St. Cloud State University students are fundraising for victims of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday. The group Helping Nepal International is asking for donations inside the Atwood Memorial Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
