St. Cloud Area Sports Recap for Friday, April 5th

The St. Cloud State softball team lost a pair of games Sunday to the University of Sioux Falls 8-0 and 4-2.  The Huskies are 22-21. The St. Ben's softball team lost 5-1 and 10-8 in 10 innings to Gustavus Sunday.  The Blazers will host Concordia-Moorhead Tuesday at 3:30pm...

The. St. Cloud State softball team defeated the University of Mary 2-1 in their first game of the NSIC tournament in Rochester Friday.

Gustavus 5, St. Ben's 0 (Kelsey McQuilan went 2-4 for the Blazers) Gustavus 3, St. Ben's 1 (Sarah Walch went 1-2 with a run scored for the Blazers. St. Ben's is 18-11 overall and 10-7 in the MIAC)

St. Cloud State 7, Minnesota State-Moorhead 1 St. Cloud State 3, Minnesota State-Moorhead 2 (Kelly Franks earned the win in both games. She threw all 7 innings in the first game and earned the win in relief in game 2. SCSU is 22-28 overall and 8-16 in the NSIC. The Huskies will host Minnesota-Crookston in a doubleheader today at Selke Field)

Game 1 Hamline 6, St. Ben's 2 (Lexi Alm and Lonnie Johnson each had 2 hits for the Blazers) St. Ben's 6, Hamline 0 (Rachel Nelson threw a complete-game 4-hit shutout for the Blazers. Maddie Lenker was 2-3 with a homerun and 3 RBIs for St. Ben's. St. Ben's is 17-8 overall and 9-4 in the MIAC)

College Softball: St. Cloud State 4, Bemidji State 0 (Kelly Franks threw a no-hitter for the Huskies). St. Cloud State 13, Bemidji State 7 (SCSU is 20-26 overall and 6-12 in the NSIC)

Southwest Minnesota State 4, St. Cloud State 3 Southwest Minnesota State 5, St. Cloud State 4 (SCSU is 18-24 overall and 4-12 in the NSIC)

Upper Iowa 4, St. Cloud State 3 Upper Iowa 5, St. Cloud State 0 (SCSU will host Augustana Friday at Selke Field. The Huskies are 18-18 overall and 4-6 in the NSIC)
