The Cathedral boys soccer team lost 2-1 to St. Paul Academy and Summit School Monday afternoon at the Metrodome. Myles Hagen tied the game at 1 apiece at the 63:01 mark of the 2nd half before Peter Wood scored the game-winner for St. Paul Academy and Summit School.

New Guidelines Outline Precautions For Sports In Times Of Sweltering Heat

The nation's largest pediatrician group says it's safe for healthy children and teenage athletes to play sports in hot, steamy weather as long as precautions are taken. St. Cloud Cathedral Activities Director Emmett Keenan says they educate their coaches and athletic trainers on the importance of staying hydrated and signs of heat exhaustion.

The newly formed Granite Ridge Conference is going from 7 schools in 2011-2012 to 9 schools in 2012-2013. The two schools joining in 2012-2013 are Albany and Becker. Albany decided today to leave the West Central Conference and make the move to the Granite Ridge Conference.
