St. John's linebacker Maze Thompson of Shoreview is this week's MIAC Defensive Player of the Week. The Saint John's football team came from behind Saturday to beat Gustavus, 31-17, as the Johnnie defense allowed only a single field goal after halftime. Thompson finished 12 total tackles - nine solo - which led the Johnnies in Saturday's win over the Gusties.

College Volleyball: St. Ben's 3, Bethel 1 (Sophie Stangl had 19 kills and Lexi Alm had 17 kills for the Blazers. St. Ben's improves to 25-4 overall and 9-1 in the MIAC. St. Ben's wraps up the #2 seed for the upcoming MIAC tournament. The Blazers close the regular season at Concordia-Moorhead Saturday at 3pm)
SCSU Wrestling Ranked #2; Honor for St. Ben’s Volleyball
The St. Cloud State wrestling team is ranked #2 in the first Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll. The Huskies were runner-up for 2 consecutive seasons at Division II and finished the 2011-2012 season with a perfect 21-0 dual meet record. The SCSU wrestling team returns 4 NCAA All-Americans, Andy Pokorny, Jake Kahnke, Shamus O'Grady, and Jacob D. Horn.

St. Ben's volleyball won all 3 games from Hamline and win the match 3 games to none Wednesday night. Sophie Stangl had 13 kills for the Blazers and Lexi Alm added 10. St. Ben's is 12-3 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC. The Blazers play at rival St. Thomas at 3pm Saturday.

The St. Ben's volleyball team defeated Augsburg 3 games to 2 in their MIAC opener Wednesday night. Lexi Alm had 19 kills and Sophie Stangl had 14 kills for the Blazers. St. Ben's is 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC. The Blazers play at the Simpson Invite in Indianola, Iowa Friday and Saturday.
